As a non-governmental organization advocating the vitality of increasing the quality of the judiciary in our country, we underline the necessity of making the interview phase of the Judgeship and Prosecutorship examinations transparent and accountable and wish to contribute to the elimination of the public’s concern regarding the presence of political influence in the interviews and to contribute to ensuring a merit-based interview process.
We believe that the proposed amendment in the first judiciary package regarding the interviews conducted after the written exam of judgehip and the prosecutorship is not sufficient to meet the expectations arising from the Judicial Reform Strategy 2019 document or to eliminate public concerns and criticisms regarding the interview phase.
In this context, on October 2019, we shared our report “Comments and Suggestions on the Draft Amendments to the Judgeship and Prosecutorship Interview Examinations in the 1st Reform Package” with the public.
